Welcome to the Barley Sheaf
Built in 1837 by local farmer William Kendall of nearby Bodrugan Barton. The Barley Sheaf has been restored and reopened by his Great Great Great Grandson; Tom White, and his wife Anne-Marie. The Barley Sheaf at Gorran serves great food, fine wines and the best Cornish Real Ales.
Our lively main bar is where locals and visitors mix and chat easily together. It's a casual place to dine and enjoy good conversation. More formal dining takes place in our restaurant area, well appointed and spacious we are able to accommodate up to 38 diners here in various table configurations.
A very elegant function room called the "Kendall Chambers" spans the whole width on the first floor of the building. This room can comfortably seat up to 35 diners and can accommodate up to 50 people in a less formal layout. Fully equipped with surround sound and the latest data projection unit the Kendall Chambers provides a very flexible space for a multitude of gatherings form intimate private dining parties, special family occasions to conference style business meetings.
